Box Hedging Buxus Sempervirens

Buxus Sempervirens also known as box hedging, it is known for it's formal and elegant shapes. It is used to form low hedging along pathways and flowerbeds and can be used as a privacy screen. It has small glossy dark green leaves that a are evergreen all year round.

Box hedge are slow growers and will only grow between 10-15cm per year. Although buxus are slow growing it has a dense habit which is ideal to prune into your desired shape. Buxus usually only need trimming 1-2 times per year we recommend to trim them late May, this will encourage new growth throughout the summer months.

Buxus grow in moist but free draining conditions and the can be placed in full sun and part shade. Depending on the initial density and height you require we recommend 2-4 plants per metre.
