Holly Hedging IIex aquifolium

IIex aquifolium also known as english holly hedging, it is known for its dark green, glossy, and  prickly leaves and are evergreen throughout the year. They produce a red berry in late autumn through to the winter months. It is used to form privacy screening and its prickly leaves are ideal for security.

Holly is a slow grower and will only grow between 10-15cm per year. Although holly is slow growing it has a dense habit which is ideal to prune into your desired shape. holly usually only need trimming 1-2 times per year we recommend to trim them in winter or early spring, this will encourage new growth throughout the summer months.

Holly grow in moist but free draining conditions and the can be placed in full sun and part shade. Depending on the initial density and height you require we recommend 2-4 plants per metre.
