Yew (Taxus Baccata)

Taxcus baccata also know is a yew is an evergreen shrub. Taxus is a very popular hedging to use in the Uk which has a dense elegant glossy green leaf and produce a red berry in the autumn months.

Taxus baccata has an average growth rate between 30-40cm per year and needs little maintenance once your hedge has established. We recommend to trim twice per year in early summer and again in the autumn time.

Taxus baccata should be planted in moist but well drained ground conditions, it does not tolerate waterlogged and clay soils well. It can be placed in full sun and shaded areas. When initially planting taxus it is important to keep them well watered throughout the summer months. We recommend to plant 2-4 plants per metre depending on the density you would like.
